Police have released more details about a stolen car involved in a collision with a truck in Mooroopna and a police search for the driver of the car on Thursday, July 31.
Police allege the stolen red 1997 Nissan Maxima was involved in a petrol drive-off from the BP service station on the corner of Echuca Rd and O’Brien St about 1.07pm.
The car pulled out on to the road where police say it was involved in a collision with a truck that was “going relatively slowly”.
The driver, the sole occupant of the Nissan, got out of the car and ran off down Echuca Rd after the crash.
Police said he had “a bloody head and a limp”.
The police helicopter is responding to an incident in Mooroopna.

Police believe he was jumping fences in the Echuca Rd area as he tried to get away.
Police searched the area, and the police helicopter was brought in for about 20 minutes at about 1.50pm to help in the search.
The driver of the car was not found, and police investigations are continuing.
The car had been stolen from Regent St in Shepparton overnight on Saturday, July 26, and police said the owner reported to police that they still had their two sets of keys in their possession.

Police said the stolen car and a truck collided.
The stolen car has been recovered; however, the driver of the car fled the scene, police said.
They are still searching for the driver in the Mooroopna area.

Police cars and the police helicopter are responding to an incident involving a stolen car in Mooroopna.
Police said the stolen car was involved in an incident at a service station on O’Brien St shortly before 2pm.
Police said there were no safety concerns for members of the public.
