An oil spill on the Goulburn Valley Hwy has resulted in the southbound lane being closed, and cars travelling that way diverted.
Fire Rescue Victoria senior station officer Mark Whitehead said a truck blew its transmission while travelling south on the Goulburn Valley Hwy at about 4.30pm on Monday, May 12.
The driver is unharmed and pulled over on the side of the road.
Oil spilled out of the truck transmission for about 150 to 200m.
Emergency services including police, FRV and CFA are on scene.
Mr Whitehead said trucks are being allowed through, however cars are being diverted.
On the eastern side of the highway, the River Rd westbound is closed, while the eastbound lane remains open.
The southbound lane of the Goulburn Valley Hwy will be closed for “a couple of hours” until VicRoads comes to the scene, Mr Whitehead said.
