Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have laid a new charge against a driver involved in a fatal collision in Yarrawonga.
A 26-year-old Tatura man was charged with dangerous driving causing death on Friday, May 30.
The charge relates to an incident where two people were allegedly involved in an altercation on Hargrave Crt, Yarrawonga, before a woman attempted to intervene at about 8.30pm on April 25.
Police will allege the man got into a car a short time later, and collided with a 46-year-old Yarrawonga woman who had attempted to intervene as it left.
CPR was performed on the woman, but she died at the scene.
Police found the vehicle in Shepparton and arrested the 26-year-old Tatura man at about 2am on April 26.
At the time he was charged with breach of a court order and threats to kill.
He was bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court in June.
