Cause of Shepparton house fire under investigation

According to a Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson, it took 10 firefighters less than 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

“Firefighters believe the fire may have been started under suspicious circumstances,” the spokesperson said.

“Once the fire was extinguished crews handed the scene to Victoria Police to investigate.”

Anyone who has information or witnessed the fire is urged to phone Detective Senior Constable Clowes at Shepparton Police Station on 5820 5800 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police are also appealing for witnesses to a fire in bushland on the Mooroopna side of the Goulburn River on Saturday, February 19.

It is believed the fire started about 7.55pm, about 100m west of the footbridge near Tom Collins Dve.
