The original charter night was held in November 1971 when 30 new members were inducted.
MC for the night was Angelo Torresan and anniversary chair PDG Glenda McLeod.
We were honoured to have our 201 V5 District Governor Keith Yates, Vice District Governor Lyn Perera, City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keefe, Deputy Mayor Anthony Brophy and their partners celebrate with us.
Cr O’Keefe proposed the toast to Lions Clubs International.

Nineteen past members were also present on the night with their partners and we thank them all for their support to the club over many years.
It was great so see so many there and have a chat.
Special guest was Gerardo Fasano, who was an original charter member 50 years ago.
Rochester Lions Club was Tatura’s original sponsor and it was a privilege to have two members that were at the original charter night attend the dinner.
Tatura president Charles Lawson was presented with a Certificate and Bannerette for 50 years of service from the World International President, by district governor Keith Yates.
Certificates and gifts were presented to some of the Tatura Lions for many years of service to the club and also our long serving members — David Moreton and David Wilson (43 years), Bruce McLeod (40), Peter Ibbott (41), Mike Shay (32), Doug Tuhan (36) and John Mapson (33). Congratulations to all.

During the night an auction, conducted by Angelo, was held, as a fundraiser to support the Tatura community. Some hot bidding took place for all the items. Thanks to all who supported this effort.
The anniversary cake, decorated by Nadene McLeod Hatz, was cut by charter member Gerardo Fasano and then enjoyed by all.
