Open to anyone aged between 12 and 25, the workshops will run between noon and 4pm and will include hands-on activities and a CD and vinyl swap.
Delivered through Greater Shepparton City Council’s Amplify Youth Committee, with support from Goulburn Valley Libraries and the Victorian Government, Amplify Creative Hub gives young people a safe and welcoming place to connect, learn new skills and explore creative career pathways.
At 12.15pm Flash Poetry Nico will host a beginner-friendly workshop for participants to try freestyle rap and explore rhyme, rhythm and language in a fun and supportive setting.
At 1.30pm participants will be able to join a hands-on workshop that explores the recording process and teaches basic recording and mixing techniques.
Through the session, crafts, board games and puzzles will be available.
Participants are welcome to bring their own instruments.
Mayor Shane Sali said the August session provided an avenue for young people to explore their creativity in a supportive environment.
“The August session is a great opportunity for young people who love music, performance or songwriting to come along, learn new skills and be part of a welcoming creative space.”
