A driver has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following a head on collision with a truck near Tocumwal yesterday.

About 5.15pm on March 12, emergency services were called to the Newell Highway near Browns Rd, Tocumwal, about 77km southeast of Deniliquin, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Murray River Police District attended and found that a car and a road train had collided head on.
The driver of the car – a woman aged in her 40s – was trapped in the vehicle and rescued by emergency services before being airlifted to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition,
The driver of the truck – a 29 year-old man – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene and an investigation into the cause of the crash has commenced.
