A figure of $453,000 was allocated in the recent Victorian budget to deliver upgrades to St George’s Rd Primary School in Shepparton.
The grant will be used to fund the upcoming works of a new toilet block for the students, replacing a “decades old portable building”.
Principal Adam Burbidge was pleasantly surprised to receive the news, especially since the past two attempts at grant applications had been unsuccessful.
“We were not anticipating this funding, and so receiving this news is a big surprise,” he said.
“We have made several improvements to the physical environment in recent years, and this further investment will help ensure our school is a place students can be proud of.
“This investment in our school will go some way to helping our physical environment truly represent the outstanding work that happens here.”
