During COVID-19 lockdowns, group members sang together through the members-only Facebook page once a week.

All run by father-daughter duo Colin and Gian Slater.

The group started in 2020 and went through 2021 in all the lockdowns — overall 75 hourly programs and 850 songs from the Sing Australia repertoire.

Sing Australia leader in Shepparton Meryl Fitzgerald is excited to be back after a slow start to the year.

Sing-a-long: Neville Noller leads the group on guitar and Dot Amery performs on the keyboard.

She said the group provided “wonderful” connection and support during the pandemic.

The group is looking to welcome new and former members and to start the next half of year with renewed vigour.

“We are a fabulous group,” she said.

“We sing all sorts of songs and we have an enormous amount of fun.”

The group is open to everyone — from their 20s to 90s. There are no auditions, just meet at the Baptist Church Shepparton on Tuesdays from 7.15pm to 9pm.
