Kylie’s life was tragically cut short when she was fatally hit by a car outside her home after trying to intervene in a domestic dispute on April 25.
A 26-year-old Tatura man has been charged with breaching an intervention order, making threats to kill and bailed to appear in court on June 5.
On Friday night family and friends gathered at a vigil in the park near Kylie’s home in Hargrave Court to share their grief and remember “a one-in-a-million person”.
Samantha met 46-year-old Kylie at work in Woods Point Aged Care in Yarrawonga, 13 years ago.
When she married her husband Craig, it was Kylie who stood by her as bridesmaid.
“To say I am beyond devastated is an absolute understatement,” Samantha said.
“I just want this weekend to have never happened.
“My life will never be the same with you not in it.”
Kylie Sanders, 46, died when she was hit by a car after trying to assist in a domestic dispute outside her home on the evening of Anzac Day.
Kylie was known as a loving and caring soul with a wicked sense of humour and “loud and funny ways”.
“She had a very special nature; caring, giving, loving, kind, compassionate, empathic, supportive and proud,” said Samantha.
“Kylie, you have spread your wings in the only way you could have, to put your life in harm’s way to protect another.
“I love you and I will miss you every single day of this life.”
The investigation into the events of that night is ongoing and no charges have been laid in relation to Kylie’s death.
A small rally outside the Shepparton Courthouse on June 5 has been organised as a show of respect and support.
