To ensure a co-ordinated approach to supporting it, Moira and Berrigan Shire councils are joining forces to host a Tourism Network Forum next month.
The forum, scheduled for Thursday, November 13 at Tocumwal Brewery from 4pm to 6pm, will provide an opportunity for tourism operators, businesses and community representatives to come together, connect and share their experiences.
Designed as a relaxed networking evening, it will highlight the vital role tourism plays in strengthening local economies while offering a platform for collaboration, new ideas and mutual support across the two shires.
Attendees will be able to hear from guest speakers, exchange stories and gain valuable insights into the region’s growing visitor economy.
Moira Shire Council chair administrator Graeme Emonson said tourism was a key driver of the region’s local economy.
“(It generates) hundreds of jobs, supporting local businesses and encouraging investment,” he said.
“We’re fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world, and our natural scenery, outdoor activities and vibrant events continue to attract visitors.
“Our region’s wide range of tourism experiences are essential for sustaining both the economic strength and liveability across our shires.
“We look forward to welcoming our local tourism network to this event.”
