Shepparton-based Pallet & Bin Pty Ltd has been acquired by the Hyne Group as part of its Hyne Pallets division, expanding its manufacturing capabilities for Australia’s food production sector.
Pallet & Bin Pty Ltd has operated for more than 20 years and produces various products for major food producers, including items for export markets.
Hyne Group chief executive Jim Bindon said the strategic location of the business would benefit operations.
“Clients include five of Australia’s largest food producers, and this offers further diversity opportunities for our national pallet customer base,” he said.
“Shepparton is also strategically located between Hyne Timber’s Tumbarumba sawmill, and key Melbourne metropolitan markets, offering some solid locational synergies for both raw material timber supply and freight efficiencies.”
The acquisition follows Hyne Group’s expansion in 2024, which included purchasing Victorian company Rodpak Pallets & Packaging, Queensland company Express Pallets & Crates and Western Australian company Pinetec Pty.
The company also acquired Bassett Barks on the Sunshine Coast through its Rocky Point Pty Ltd subsidiary.
In a parallel development, the group's UK-based majority owner, James Jones and Sons Ltd, has acquired United Box Ltd, a joint venture established in 2003 that manufactures and distributes agricultural boxes across the UK and Ireland.
