“It’s a massive event, and it’s been going for 30 years, which just goes to show you how much the community loves it,” she said.
“Last year we had more than 1000 people attend, and we’d be anticipating the same again this year.
“All the local schools will be in attendance, and we have the JBS choir followed by a special community choir.
“And of course, we've got the man in the red suit turning up and a whole range of soloists from around the community, so it's brilliant.”
Entry to the event is by only a gold coin donation, made possible by a number of local sponsors.
Julia said Barooga Public School would be putting on a barbecue, and ice creams would also be on sale, perfect for the warm weather.
“Last year we sold out, so get in early for the ice cream,” she said.
“We also have a community raffle with prizes that are donated by local businesses, so everyone is really very generous and all the money goes back into the Cobram-Barooga community.
“Berrigan Shire Council and the Moira Shire Council will contribute to the funding as well, so it really is a cross-border initiative.”
