But that’s exactly where the third dealership worldwide to adopt the brand’s new identity, as a sustainable and innovative company, lives.
Shepparton BMW dealer principal Aaron Brain said in some ways, it was a case of ‘right place, right time’ for the franchise.
“After lengthy chats with BMW, we decided we needed to move, and part of that discussion was what that move would look like,” he said.
“From a timing point of view, it just worked out well for us that we would be the number one in Australia and third in the world to adopt the new corporate identity, which is what you’re looking at now.”
That new corporate identity comprises three brands — BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce — and incorporates a further focus on electric vehicles and increasing sustainability within the luxury car industry.
In Shepparton, they’re bringing the MINI and BMW to customers, with the sustainable features to boot.
“Electrification is going to be part of the future of people’s mobility in general, and it’s a trend across the automotive industry,” Mr Brain said.
“BMW are very proactive, and are making sure they don’t just build one electric car, but a whole suite of them.”
From the nifty two-door MINI to the large BMW SUV, Shepparton BMW has the entire range from the BMW Group for customers to find their perfect vehicle.
“They don’t just feel like electric cars, they still have the origins of BMW,” Mr Brain said.
“But they’re electric.”
Later this year, the Shepparton dealership will have an even wider range of electric vehicles to offer to clientele.
Mr Brain said while the technology was “still new” to Shepparton, customers were quickly being won over by the vehicles’ capability.
“As soon as you drive an electric car, you’re like ‘I want to drive one of these’,” he said.
“They’re quiet, they’re instant power and they just love it.”
You can test drive one of the BMW Group’s range of electric vehicles anytime at Shepparton BMW.
