At just 16, Shrey Patel already embodies determination and grit.
Balancing his studies with a part-time job at The Main Course Butchery, he also trains in Muay Thai each week and hits the gym every morning.
A former Mooroopna Cats basketballer, he hopes to have saved enough for a house deposit by the end of the year — a goal he pursues with the same discipline he brings to school leadership.
Inspired by the captains who came before him, Shrey said he hoped to continue that legacy of strong role models.
“Past college captains inspired me, and I want other kids to have the same good role models,” he said.
Looking ahead, Shrey plans to study either law or business at university.

His co-captain, Lillian Richardson, 17, brings her own impressive record of service and academic ambition.
As a member of the Greater Shepparton City Council Youth Advisory Committee and its sustainability committee, she has long been a voice for young people in the region.
In Year 9, she joined Melbourne University’s Girl Power in Engineering program — a step towards her dream of completing a PhD in physics at the University of Melbourne.
Lillian has also contributed to the St Anne’s Student Voice Committee and works part-time at Little Lipari Café.
For her, leadership is about ensuring the school continues to be a place students are proud to belong to.
“I want to be able to graduate from a school that I’m proud of,” she said.
“And while I’m already proud of St Anne’s College, the teachers and the community, the only way I can ensure that pride is upheld is for me to take part in leading the school.”
Among her goals for 2026 are establishing uniform stalls to support families and helping lift school spirit across all year levels.
Together, Lillian and Shrey represent a confident, community-minded future for St Anne’s College, one driven by ambition, service and a commitment to leading by example.
