Opening night on Friday, June 5, saw Matt Dowling entertain the audience with stories from his time in the media, followed by local jazz combo The 3 Of Us, featuring well-known musicians Rachael Howard on vocals, Wade Gregory on keyboards and Brian Matthews on saxophone.
Tatura Rotarian Rhonda Rose said guests were singing along and tapping their feet throughout the evening.
“The vibe in the hall was amazing,” Ms Rose said.
While the amount of artwork on display was slightly down on previous years, Ms Rose said it allowed the pieces to fit perfectly within the thoughtfully designed exhibition space.
One thing that was not down, however, was attendance, with crowds flocking to the show throughout the weekend.
“The number of people through the door and the number of patrons in our café were among the highest ever,” she said.
“We sold 28 per cent of what we had on display. That is a record.”
Many returning artists graced the hall with their vibrant and intricate works, while a range of emerging and established artists exhibited for the first time.
Ms Rose said the hall was constantly busy throughout Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
“The onsite café was a great meeting place, and many patrons spent time over coffee while they contemplated which piece to purchase,” she said.
“We cannot thank Janette Mason and her café team enough.
“They are an integral part of our art show weekend, and it takes an enormous effort behind the scenes to do what they do.”
Col Brown, from Kangaroo Flat, was named the People's Choice winner, taking both first and second place with Blackberry Lane and Snow Queen, respectively.
Artist Rhonda Willoughby, from Kerang, took out third place.
“The winner of the School Art Prize was Bethan, who is in Grade 3. Her work, Cherry Mosaic, earned her a voucher from Mes Amours in Tatura,” Ms Rose said.
“The winner of our raffle was Bruce Russell. He was actually in our café having coffee when the winner was announced, so he was available for a photo.
“The Art Show is quite expensive to stage and, fortunately, we have many generous sponsors who advertise with us or donate goods and services in kind to help make the event possible. A big thank you to all of you.
“All of the hard work done by our club members and volunteers from the community was well worth it. We had a very successful weekend.”
