With an early start of 10am, Dot Best and Joyce Andrus fought out the club championship in front of a small but keen group of onlookers.
Conditions were typical of this bowls season with windy and gusty conditions and with the greens prepared by Jason Carter and John Evans in excellent condition.
Best, an eight-time Tatura club champion and with plenty of exceptional past form, went in as the clear favourite.
But Andrus is an exceptional bowler in her own right.
A club champion in her final year at Pakenham Bowls Club and runner-up Champion of Champions in the Casey Bowls Region back in 2016.
Andrus came out in devastating form and had clearly adapted to the conditions the best, for she was leading comfortably 15 to four before Best started to find her bowling rhythm.
Over the next nine ends a form reversal had Best dominating the scoring gaining 12 shots to two, and trailing Andrus by a solitary shot 16 to 17.
However, Best's run was brought to an end for Andrus managed to score eight shots to four to gain the necessary game required 25 shots to close out the match and claim her first Tatura women's club championship.
Co-incidentally it is her last year possibly at Tatura Bowls Club as residentially she is relocating out of the area and will possibly be bowling elsewhere.
A championship in her last year at Pakenham and a championship in her last year at Tatura.
Andrus and Best had played 29 ends with each combatant winning 14 ends and one end equal and unable to be decided.
