The fundraiser aims to raise essential funds to support meaningful activities for residents, improve facilities, and continue creating an environment where care, comfort, and connection thrive.
At the heart of this initiative are the Hostel’s talented cooks, who are preparing a batch of freshly made, delicious donuts—affectionately known as “Ugly Nuts.”
Every donut purchased will directly contribute to enhancing the lives of the residents, with the fundraiser being incredibly popular last year.
For those who prefer to support without the sweet treat, donations are warmly welcomed.
Every dollar goes a long way in bringing smiles and warmth to the lives of the Hostel residents.
Ugly Nuts will be available in two flavours: cinnamon and jam.
Orders must be placed by Monday, July 28, and the pick-up is scheduled for Monday, August 11 from noon at the Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel.
Cinnamon donuts are priced at $2.50 for a single donut, $10.50 for a pack of six, and $13.50 for a pack of thirteen.
Jam donuts are available at $2.60 for one, $12 for six, and $15 for thirteen.
To place an order or make a donation, community members can contact Tracey or Sarah by calling (03) 5874 3650, emailing tracey.morrison@tochostel.com.au, or visiting the Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel Facebook Page.

Tocumwal Lions Club held a successful street stall last Friday.
The raffle hamper kindly donated by March’s IGA and was won by David Goodwin.
The Lions Club thank the community for their support of the street stall.
The Lions Club continues to call on the community to remember to keep their used postage stamps, old glasses, and hearing aids when doing a clean out at home.
These items can be dropped into the blue collection bin at Tocumwal IGA.
To assist with processing, stamp donors are asked to trim the paper around the stamp to within 3mm.
The Lions Club recently sent off 47 pairs of glasses, four hearing aids and 1.7 kilos of postage stamps for processing.
Collected reading glasses and hearing aids are refurbished and distributed to individuals in need both in Australia and around the world, giving them a second life and offering the gift of sight and sound to those who need it most.
Since the stamp project began in 2004, nearly $400,000 has been raised for the foundation.
