The program was hosted at the La Trobe University Shepparton campus on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22.
The students worked in teams that consisted of members of both schools and were challenged to step outside their comfort zone and collaborate across a range of activities.
The teams identified issues affecting young people in their communities and developed potential solutions.
Their ideas included increasing volunteer opportunities for young people, improving access to youth mental health support, enhancing local sporting facilities and creating more employment opportunities.
The students presented their ideas to a panel that included City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali, Victoria Police Leading Senior Constable and multicultural officer Leigh Johnson and Salvation Army youth participation worker Jim Gow.
The panel provided insight, encouragement and valuable insight.
