Students have called on the Victorian Government to fund urgently needed road repairs for Toolamba Rd.
State Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell recently visited Shepparton ACE Secondary College, and students expressed their concerns about the deteriorating state of rural roads.
The students highlighted the dangerous conditions of Toolamba Rd, especially the stretch between the Midland Hwy intersection and Rumbalara Rd.
They also pointed out a series of potholes between Toolamba-Rushworth Rd and Waugh Rd that require urgent attention.
Ms Lovell raised the issue with the Roads and Road Safety Minister and recently spoke in parliament to call for the funding for the urgent repairs.
“Students told me it’s time to fix Toolamba Rd, and I hope the Minister for Roads and Road Safety will provide them with a positive response,” she said.
“Rural and regional roads are in a dire state after a decade of neglect by the State Labor Government, and will decay even further as Labor’s new Budget has cut the road resurfacing target by 75 per cent.”
