The Showcase exhibition gives senior Art and Design students from across the North East the opportunity for artistic recognition in a public art space.
A range of media and topics will be represented, highlighting the creativity and diverse talents of young and emerging artists across our region.

Benalla Art Gallery director, Eric Nash, said the exhibition was always a highlight of the Gallery’s annual program.
“Young artists of our region present a diverse array of thought-provoking and technically accomplished works,” Mr Nash said.
“Visitors will gain insight into the passions and concerns of the emerging generation while upcoming students can see how their peers have responded to, and developed, curriculum requirements.”
This year’s Showcase presents works exploring personal, political and environmental concerns with the young artists looking at where they are now and where we could be in the future.
“They have focussed on emotions, identity, memories, dreams and self-expression; the state of the natural environment and our place within it; our use of technology and its impact; and possible or alternate realities,” Mr Nash said.
“This exhibition showcases creative processes, imaginative ideas and skilful use of materials across a range of media.
“It demonstrates Benalla Art Gallery’s continuing, strong commitment to contemporary art and arts education.”
Showcase is open at Benalla Art Gallery and runs until March 8.
