Greater Shepparton City Council will begin construction works to upgrade the stormwater drainage network along Marungi St, Shepparton, from Thursday, October 30.
The project will take place between the Marungi and Nixon Sts intersection and Knight St, with completion expected by early March 2026, weather permitting.
Works will be completed in four stages, beginning with traffic closures in stages one and two.
Stage one: From October to November 27, Marungi St will be closed to southbound traffic and Nixon St to eastbound traffic, with local access via Knight St.
Stage 2: From November 27 to December 12, both directions of Marungi St between Knight and Nixon Sts will be closed, while Nixon St remains closed to eastbound traffic.
Council will host an onsite meeting for residents and businesses on Tuesday, October 28, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at the car park on the corner of Nixon and Marungi Sts.
The session offers an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the project.
Council said access to private properties would be maintained where possible and urged road users to follow all signage, detours and traffic directions.
