“During the tourism season, it’s very important that people adhere to the weather conditions,” Mr Herezo said.

“If people are camping and utilising the beautiful area that we have, know the associated risks.”

A combination of recent rainfall and wind gusts meant there was an increased risk of fallen tree limbs, Mr Herezo said.

“It’s looking like it’s going to stay relatively the same, which is wind speeds of around 15 knots, with wind gusts of up to 30 knots.

“The gusts is where we’re most likely to see the trees come down.”

The reminder comes after emergency services were called to a tree downed on Karook St in Cobram on the night of Tuesday, January 14.

“Follow advice from the VicEmergency app,” Mr Herezo said.

“That’s where the local warnings are going to come from.”
