Sod turned for Shepparton Christian College’s new classrooms

Sod turned: Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp alongside Shepparton Christian College school captains Shana Scanlan and Alexander Aiton.

Students at Shepparton Christian College will have access to three new general purpose classrooms and a woodworking room from next year.

Year 12 students will also have a new break-out space.

State Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp turned the first sod with the help of some students on Friday, March 4, and said it would help the school of more than 280 students grow.

He said students “would have a story to tell” about their schooling over the past two years but thanked them for adapting to the situation and rolling with the punches during home schooling and lockdowns.

He said the new rooms would provide top-notch facilities for the school.

“The Shepparton Christian College will just get bigger and brighter and better than than ever before,” Mr Gepp said.

Principal Chris Aiton said it was an exciting day for the school to turn the first sod.

The infrastructure project is supported by the Victorian Government, with $2 million from the Non-Government Schools Capital Fund 2021-22.
