Despite cloudy skies, the Moira Shire Youth Fest drew a considerable crowd to Federation Park.

Federation Park came alive on Sunday, September 21, as the Moira Shire Youth Council held its 2025 Youth Fest.

Families unrolled their picnic blankets and perched on garden chairs to soak up live performances by budding local musicians, including Antonia Maher, Desirable Addictions and Matilda Altoft.
Youth Council mayor Elly Slatterie said she was extremely proud of everyone on the Youth Council and grateful to Moira Shire Council for helping to get the event off the ground.
“Even with the weather not looking the greatest, it is still a great time. We’ve had so many people, lots of kids, lots of engagement on all accounts. Every single store has received good feedback,” she said.
“I definitely think, considering the success of today, we can expect lots more from the Youth Council.”

The event was part of Moira Youth Council’s mission to promote and engage young people across Moira Shire.
A range of stalls, from service providers to craft works, provided plenty of interesting activities for guests on the day.
In April, Moira Shire Council was successful in gaining a $120,000 grant from the Victorian Government through its FReeZA program, targeting youth engagement programs across Victoria.
