The complimentary parking runs from Monday, December 1 through Saturday, January 31, 2026. Paid parking resumes on Monday, February 2.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the initiative was a great way to encourage the community to shop local during the Christmas season.
“This initiative gives residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy all the CBD has to offer while saving on parking costs during December and January,” Cr Sali said.
“However, we remind everyone to observe time limits.
“For extended shopping trips, off-street longer-stay or all-day parking spaces near the CBD are the best option.
“These car parks remain free year-round.'
Time limits remain in effect during this period, with fines issued to vehicles exceeding the time displayed on parking signs.
The free parking does not apply to the multi-deck car park, Goulburn Valley Health or Carepark car parks.
