Ms Junor has pulled no punches in the display of red and blue out the front of her place, and is a Demon through and through.
She and her family are Melbourne Cricket Club members and go to most home games, but will miss the one that counts — Saturday’s AFL grand final.
“I’m very nervous but very excited and also very shattered we can’t be there,” she said.
“We get to most home games during the season, my family’s all Melbourne too. It’s been a long two weeks waiting.”
Ms Junor said she was hopeful going into the year but it wasn’t until a round five win over Richmond on Anzac Day eve she began to believe.
“By mid-season, that’s when it started to build and you start to think about the prospect of it happening and then COVID hit again,” she said.
“I normally go with Mum and Dad, I’ve been to some grand finals along the way.”
She was just six years old when the Demons last made a grand final, when they lost to Essendon, “and I can’t remember a lot of it”.
“It’s shattering to see all these other teams win it and you dream of being there when the Dees win it,” Ms Junor said.
“Hopefully we’re on the way up and we’ll be good for a few years.”
She had a local flavour to her prediction for the Norm Smith medal for best on ground, backing Clayton Oliver in for a victory.
Her favourite player, though hard to pick, is arguably the game’s most loveable character in Max Gawn.
“Growing up I was a big Shane Woewodin fan, but this year they’ve all been unreal so it’s hard to pick a favourite. [Christian] Petracca’s been really good, I love Angus Brayshaw and Ed Langdon but Maxy’s hard not to love,” she said.
Come Saturday, she hopes he's holding up the premiership cup.
