Families who currently use, or plan to access, early childhood services and education in Cohuna can help plan how these services will look from next year.
With construction of the Victorian Government’s new Early Learning and Childhood Education Centre in Cohuna starting this year, Gannawarra Shire Council is planning to meet community needs.
Feedback is being sought via an online survey to help the council understand local family preferences, and the future demand for pre-school services.
Chief executive Geoff Rollinson said the council was proud to have advocated for the new centre, which will provide improved childhood development needs.
“As this centre will feature its own kindergarten rooms that will cater for three-year-old kindergarten and pre-Prep sessions, as well as long day care programs, now is an opportune time to assess current services and the future needs of families,” he said.
“It is important to note that decisions have not been made about council’s delivery of early childhood education and care programs for Cohuna and district.”
The survey is open for responses until 5pm on Friday, February 13, and can be accessed by visiting gsc.vic.gov.au/yoursay
