The Greg Graham Memorial Scholarship (GGMS), valued at $10,000, and the $3000 Peter Connor Book Award (PCBA) have supported agriculture students since their introduction in 2001.
Delivered by the Ricegrowers Assoxciation of Australia, each provides opportunities for education, innovation, and growth within the industry and reflect the beliefs of thier namesakes that knowledge and passion are the cornerstones of progress.
Thanks to the generosity of SunRice, Rice Research, and other industry supporters, more than 40 students have benefited from these awards since being established.
“Many recipients have returned to our communities and farms equipped with leading-edge knowledge, helping to strengthen and rejuvenate the Australian rice industry,” the RGA said.
Applicants must be the child, grandchild or nominated employee of a current financial member of the RGA, an A-Class shareholder, or an Australian rice grower who has grown rice at least once in the last three years.
Candidates must be in at least their second year of study at an Australian tertiary institution and demonstrate commitment to the rice industry.
