Mr Sali said that people in the community talked to him about this issue on a regular basis.
He said that significant growth had been forecasted for Tatura and that a review would assess where the best place for an additional school would be, whether it was using the existing Mooroopna site or a new location.
Greater Shepparton Secondary Collage was formed out of an amalgamation of four public high schools, including one in Mooroopna, in 2020, and its new Hawdon St campus opened in 2022.
“We need to review the GSSC to determine, with the investment that’s been undertaken, is it delivering the outcomes that were expected?” Mr Sali said.
Community groups such as the Mooroopna Steering Committee have been advocating for an additional high school to be built on the western side of the Goulburn River, especially following the October 2022 floods that cut access between Shepparton and Mooroopna.
The first students to have spent all their high-school years at GSSC are expected to graduate in 2027 and Mr Sali said that it would be an appropriate time for a review.
The comments were made when Mr Sali sat down with The News to participate in a video interview.
