The award recognises outstanding performance in an agent’s local market, achieved by generating at least $300,000 in commission or completing 30 sales within a financial year.
In the past six months alone, Mr Wilson has sold more than 30 properties across Rochester and surrounding areas, including 16 settlements within the township.
A strong advocate for local community groups and events, Mr Wilson believes the town’s support has played a significant role in his success.
Mr Wilson said that contrary to popular belief, Rochester was thriving, with strong demand from people wanting to call the town home.
“I think it’s just because of Rochester ... It’s still a safe place to live,” he said.
“It's the affordability, lifestyle and just our positioning between Echuca and Bendigo.
“We've got a great school that’s been completely refurbished, and then we’ve got the hospital that’s had a revamp and not an empty shop in town.”
Recently, buyer interest has extended well beyond the region, with inquiries coming from across Australia, including Tasmania and Queensland.
Despite widespread concerns about challenging housing markets nationally, Mr Wilson said Rochester and its surrounds had remained steady.
Buyer demographics have also been diverse, ranging from people in their late 20s to retirees aged 70 and over.
While there has been solid interest in higher-end properties priced between $600,000 and $1 million, competition has been particularly strong for homes under $500,000.
With steady demand and growing interstate interest, Mr Wilson believes Rochester’s momentum is only building.
