Each month, Foott processes more than 1300 tonnes of recyclables, including cardboard, plastic, aluminium and glass, at its Shepparton Processing facility.
Through its commercial waste collections, council kerbside services and depots for Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme, Foott plays a key role in keeping materials in use and out of landfill.
Chief executive Andrew Yeoland said recycling delivered both environmental and economic value for regional communities.
“The scale of material moving through regional recycling systems is significant, and it continues to grow,” he said.
Since the launch of CDS Vic in November 2023, Foott’s depots in Shepparton, Benalla, Yarrawonga and Cobram have processed more than 60 million containers, returning millions of dollars to local households, schools and community groups.
Mr Yeoland said the results and the community participation showed that regional communities were serious about recycling.
“Regional communities are driving change. People want to do the right thing when it comes to recycling, and our job is to make it easy and efficient,” he said.
“For more than 30 years we have been proud to operate in regional Victoria, investing in infrastructure, creating local jobs and supporting community organisations.”
Foott continues to invest in technology to improve recycling efficiency, including onboard cameras in its kerbside fleet that help verify collections and reduce unnecessary truck movements, and high-speed barcode counting systems at CDS Vic depots that improve accuracy and reduce contamination.
