The Deniliquin Rams Football and Netball Club proudly got behind the Murray League’s R U OK? Round on Saturday, with players, coaches and families coming together to highlight the importance of checking in on one another.

The club’s junior footballers and netballers joined together to create a giant R U OK? human sign, reinforcing the powerful message that a simple conversation can make a difference.
Throughout the round, footballers wore R U OK? socks, while the under-11 and under-13 netball teams also proudly wore the special socks on game day.
Netballers wore yellow ribbons in support of the campaign, creating a sea of yellow across the club.
Every football and netball grade also presented a R U OK? Award as part of the round, recognising the club’s commitment to supporting the message and encouraging everyone to look out for one another.
Player welfare officer Charmaine Marshall said the initiative was about reinforcing that sporting clubs are about much more than competition.
“Our club is like a family.
“We want everyone to know it’s okay to ask for help, and just as importantly, to ask a mate, ‘Are you OK?’.
“Sometimes a simple conversation can make all the difference.”
The Deniliquin Rams thanked everyone who embraced the initiative and helped spread such an important message throughout the club.
The round was a reminder that looking after one another is one of the most important things we can do, on the field, on the court and in everyday life.
