Council has received an offer from Inland Rail to purchase the land at market value. The land is required to support the Inland Rail Project and related improvements, including upgraded parking, public open space and supporting infrastructure.
The land proposed for acquisition is shown outlined in red in the accompanying illustration and includes portions of Council-owned land adjoining Railway St and Scott St.
Southern Parcel - Railway St, Euroa (946m²)
This parcel forms part of the former railway station car park. As part of the precinct redevelopment, it will be incorporated into an expanded public parking area, landscaped public space and an improved entrance to the station precinct.
Ownership will transfer to VicTrack, with ongoing maintenance undertaken by V/Line.
Northern Parcel - Scott St, Euroa (1,412m²)
This parcel forms part of a former reserve area containing scattered vegetation and trees.
Following completion of the project, it will become part of a drainage basin associated with the new vehicle underpass, helping to manage stormwater and support the operation of the precinct.
Ownership of land will transfer to the Department of Transport and Planning.
