About 50 community members gathered at Parkland Golf Club on Wednesday, January 21to start planning.
Attendees worked together through interactive activities designed to capture creative ideas to celebrate the town’s milestone.
Kyabram Development Committee vice-chair Tania Chiswell said she was amazed by the turnout of people at the meeting.
The evening began with participants reflecting on what Kyabram means to them, ensuring the celebration would be meaningful and create lasting memories for the community.
Groups were asked to write down their ideas for celebrating the occasion before completing the final activity with four interactive stations, each exploring different themes: big celebration moments, legacy, history and pride, family and youth.
To wrap up the evening of collaboration, attendees voted on their favourite ideas using a coloured sticker system.
Many ideas were brainstormed at the first meeting to discuss Kyabram’s 150th birthday celebrations.

KDC have since compiled the most popular themes and ideas that received the highest votes, including a big celebration day featuring a street parade or street party with festival style activities and food.
The committee chose October for the celebration, with a series of smaller events to be scheduled throughout the year leading up to the big event.
