Created using a palette knife, one of the paintings was commissioned by former Shepparton High School principal Christine Cole.
Mr Beckenham has since painted another and is selling prints to help raise funds for his Movember fundraising team, Greater Shepp Stache Club.
Mr Beckenham’s business Grit and Grime Busters was contracted to clean the school from 2012 to 2019 and he said it left a lasting impression on him and his team.
“The size and beauty of the school was quite confronting,” he said.
“And it wasn’t like a normal job for us, it was like getting paid to go back to school. We had a lot of fun with the teachers and other staff.
“We played darts every Friday, enjoyed social events and regularly participated in Movember fundraising.
“I remember listening to students rehearse for plays, singing or thumping the drums. It made us all reminisce about our own school days.
“Everyone at Shepparton High School will always be remembered as simply the best.”
Mr Beckenham said while he was sad to see the end of Shepparton High School, it wouldn’t be long before activity returned to the school yard under the new Greater Shepparton Secondary College banner.
“They say time flies when you’re enjoying what you do, and it sure did for us,” he said.
“Teachers and staff gathered to watch a farewell video on the final day, which had everyone in tears.
“The thousands of hours the teachers and staff had worked between those walls and the student friendships they had developed through their education and support was inspirational.
“The cleaners seemed like an outlet for people. At the end of a busy day, the teachers could release their joy, frustration, emotions or talk about anything.
“I hope the paintings give people something to remember Shepparton High School by.”
The limited-edition prints are available on a canvas matt for $140 or framed and ready to hang for $210. A $50 donation will be made to the Movember fundraiser from every purchase.
