Paceman Arnel finished with immaculate figures of 10-25 from 11.4 overs, believed to be the first 10-wicket innings haul in Cricket Shepparton A-grade history.
It is also the first time since the association’s MyCricket records began in the 2003-04 season any player in any grade has completed the feat.
It helped the Blues to an outright win, their 244 from day one proving too strong for Euroa’s 119 and 52, Arnel’s haul coming in the second innings after the Magpies had been asked to follow on.
Arnel said he would never forget a day in which everything that could have gone his way simply did.
‘‘To be honest I didn’t really think about it until I had eight, then I had a bit of a sniff,’’ he said.
‘‘We were just working on getting the outright, and once we had a few early ones we were definitely pushing for it.
‘‘I got pretty lucky no one else took a wicket, it was definitely one out of the box.
‘‘I’d got nine and Mitch Grandell was on at the other end, and bowling quite well. The boys were joking about maybe dropping a catch so I could get 10, but luckily it didn’t come to that.’’
