For those interested in making history, nominations are now open to join the Greater Shepparton Heritage Advisory Committee.
The community representative positions on the committee will become vacant in September and Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking to fill these roles.
Beginning in October 2023 and concluding in October 2025, the new members will work alongside member historical organisations, councillors and other community representatives to advise council on cultural heritage matters concerning Greater Shepparton.
Mayor Shane Sali encouraged people with an interest in heritage issues to apply.
“It is a fantastic opportunity to sit on this committee and involves having a say in the planning and execution of a number of successful community events, including the Heritage Open Days and the Cultural Heritage Awards,” he said.
Committee meetings are held on the first Monday of every month or at other times as determined by members.
Nomination forms can be lodged electronically or by hard copy, and are available at https://greatershepparton.com.au/ or in the foyer of council’s offices at 90 Welsford St, Shepparton.
Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, September 8.
