Edward River Council and Murray River Council, in conjunction with local fire authorities, advise that No-Burn Periods will be in place over the coming weeks to reduce the risk of fire during peak summer conditions.
Edward River Council will enforce a No-Burn Period from December 23 to January 3.
Murray River Council will have a No-Burn Period in place for December and January in their entirety.
During these designated periods:
• No new fire permits will be issued; and,
• All existing fire permits will be suspended.
“These restrictions apply to all residents and landholders and are vital to ensuring community safety during heightened fire danger conditions,” the Mid Murray RFS said.
“Residents are urged to plan ahead, stay informed, and follow all fire safety directives.”
