The transfer is scheduled for December 27, bringing GRPSA's total managed services to 20 across Moira, Strathbogie, Greater Shepparton and Campaspe local government areas.
Rushworth Kindergarten and Childcare president Tracey Rogers said the decision came following “strong community support” for the proposal to join the association at a special general meeting.
“The committee agreed to transition from the committee of management model to an early years management model,” she said.
“This will help streamline operations, improve governance and compliance, and align the service with sector best practices in early childhood education.
“The timing works well with the Best Start, Best Life reform and introduction of Pre-Prep.”
GRPSA, which has operated as a not-for-profit early childhood provider since 1988, submitted a transfer of service provider application for the transition.
The organisation already manages 19 kindergartens across the region, including in Undera, Merrigum and Colbinabbin.
GRPSA chief executive Ronni Druitt said the association was excited to have Rushworth on board.
“We believe we have a similar philosophy and as we already are the approved provider for Colbinabbin and Murchison kindergartens, the location is ideal for our management team to support the service,” she said.
