The Midland Highway has been closed south-west of Goornong following a fatal collision earlier today.

Police believe the driver of a small silver hatchback was travelling along the road when they lost control and collided with a truck, and a ute about 2.45pm.
The driver of the hatchback and their passenger, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The truck driver and driver of the ute were not injured.
Police said the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
The road is closed in both directions.
Motorists are asked to obey directions of traffic management.
Avoid the area: Road closures are in place in place on the Midland Highway, south-west of Goornong, following a fatal collision earlier today.
Motorists may consider taking Peatling Road or Goornong-Fosterville Road onto Epsom-Barnadown Road as an alternative to the Midland Highway.
