Although, Murchison’s celebration is something extraordinary.
It’s not just the music and live entertainment that draw people in, it’s also the market, kids’ activities and the variety of food from the food trucks that make this event truly special.
In a Christmas nutshell, it has it all.
From American barbecue and mini pancakes to dumplings, hot dogs, milkshakes, coffee, ice-cream and even something tasty from the Murchison Men’s Shed.
The evening’s music lineup, carefully co-ordinated by Bridie Sanderson, includes performances from The Ludlow Twins, the Shepparton Brass and Wind Band, and the adorable little locals from Murchison Primary School and kindergarten.
Neighbourhood House Murchison manager and event organiser Jessie Boer said it was a night where the town truly came alive, and everyone from around the region was welcome.
“It’s going to be an incredible night, and we are hoping that people come from far and wide to see what our beautiful town has on offer,” Jessie said.
“There will be a jumping castle, face painting, activities in the park and so many wonderful local community groups all set up with a stand too.
“The market has a large range on offer too, perfect for some Christmas shopping. There is something for everyone — it’s a magical night.”
Market stalls will feature homemade crafts, kids’ toys, crystals, candles and plenty of variety for the perfect Christmas gifts.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy the festivities on the main street of Murchison.
Extra parking is available near the town’s community centre or in front of the local pool.
And to add to the night, Santa will be available for photos and will be handing out lollies at the end of the night.
Pop this event on your to-do list: Sunday, December 7 from 4pm to 8pm — a night of Christmas joy you won’t want to miss.
