Mooroopna’s very own Maisie the Australian shepherd has become a finalist in the 2025 Oz Top Dog awards, representing Greater Shepparton in the hotly contested People’s Choice category for Top Office Dog.
At just six months old, Maisie has already carved out a special role at the Mooroopna Veterinary Practice.
Whether she’s ‘helping’ with the washing, chasing away magpies, or delighting staff with her lightning-fast zoomies, Maisie is the clinic’s resident morale booster.
Her owner, vet nurse Mikaela Scott, said Maisie had been a constant companion at the office since the day she arrived in Shepparton.
“My partner and I had been looking for an Aussie shepherd for a couple of years, so when Maisie came along, it was an easy choice,” Mikaela said.
“It’s quite normal in our industry to bring pets to work — they spend most of their time in the yard together, and of course keep us all smiling.”
Practice manager Dalaney Myers said Maisie and Mikaela were the perfect duo.
“Mikaela puts in so much effort — having a puppy isn’t easy, but she’s patient and dedicated,” she said.
“Maisie has brought so much joy to the team and they both deserve this recognition.”
Now it’s up to the public to help crown Maisie Top Office Dog.
