Code 1 emergencies refer to cases where patients require urgent paramedic and hospital care.
In the Hume Region, crews responded to 5451 Code 1 cases between January 1 and March 31, down from 5790 in the previous quarter from October 1 to December 31, 2024.
For Greater Shepparton, Code 1 response times have improved by 34 seconds, compared to three months ago.
According to the Ambulance Victoria quarter performance report from January to March 2025, under the Code 1 First Response Performance by LGA, the average ambulance response time was 14 minutes and 28 seconds.
This was an improvement from the average time of 15.02 from October to December 2024.
But compared to January to March 2024, where the average response time was 13.23 minutes, current times are 1.05 minutes slower.
The report also showed that from January to March 2025, ambulances responded to Code 1 emergencies in less than 15 minutes 71.8 per cent of the time.

The data also showed that there were 65 fewer Code 1 call-outs from January to March than in the previous quarter, down from 1501 to 1436.
