The Ladies of the 225 are bringing the community together for a Pink Ribbon Lunch on Sunday, October 26, to raise vital funds for breast cancer research and support.
From noon, the Kyabram Masonic Lodge will be abuzz with the lunch, offering a delightful spread, engaging conversations and the excitement of raffles and lucky door prizes.
The Ladies of the 225 group is made up of the wives, partners, daughters and nieces of the Kyabram Freemasons who meet once every month to chat and show off their special talent whether that be meditation, cooking or candle making.
This month, their collective talent focuses on fundraising for breast cancer, with a heartfelt invitation extended to the entire community to rally behind this crucial cause.
Event organiser Suzanne Spencer said the idea to put the lunch on came from wondering what all the members could use their talents for.
“A lot of us can cook and bake, and I thought it would be a great way to do a project together and raise money for a really good cause,” she said.
“Breast cancer affects everyone ... it’s a horrific disease.
“I loved the idea of supporting the research ... so the more money we can get to support the research into finding out what makes this disease tick, maybe we can help get rid of it.”
She encouraged everyone to come along in their pink clothes and join in for a fun and charitable afternoon.
“Everyone is impacted, not just the person with breast cancer ... so this event is also for everyone,” Mrs Spencer said.
The event is cash only, with $10 entry for adults and $5 for children under 13 years, which includes lunch, snacks and tea.
Drinks can be purchased on the day.
And for those who cannot make it on the day and still want to get involved, they can donate directly to the fundraiser online by visiting tinyurl.com/mwm64cru
