Community members from various across Australia are pitching themselves as the perfect destination for Tones and I to host a concert; now Kyabram has put its hat in the ring.
Last week, the chart-topping Australian singer-songwriter Tones and I put out a call-out on Facebook: one big show, cheap tickets, anywhere in Australia.
The post went viral, and at time of publishing has been shared more than 3200 times and has 36,000 comments from communities pitching their town as the ideal destination.
Since then, a page has been created called ‘Tones and I Kyabram’, promoting her concert as a perfect way to celebrate the town’s 150th year.
One of the posts features an open letter to the Dance Monkey singer.
“In 2026 the town of Kyabram, Victoria will be celebrating a very special milestone — 150 years of community, memories and togetherness,” a post on the page said.
“Your music has a way of bringing people together, and we can’t think of a more fitting way to make 150 years than by welcoming you here to celebrate with us.”
The idea was also floated at the 150-year celebration discussion night.
This isn’t the first time the singer has been invited to perform in the Goulburn Valley, with a concert being held in Echuca in 2024.
Community members are encouraged to like the page and interact with posts to boost the visibility of Kyabram's campaign.
The singer-songwriter is expected to announce her decision this Sunday.
