Seven groups in our region have been selected to receive a chunk of funding thanks to the Community Grant Program.
The grants are aimed at empowering not-for-profit organisations, community groups, and initiatives that contribute to the vibrancy and strength of our region through projects, events, and exhibitions.
Successful recipients of this round of Community Grant’s program are:
- Kyabram Community and Learning Centre Inc: $2,620 to assist with costs associated with delivering the Kyabram Moonlight Markets.
- Kyabram Scout Group: $1000 to assist with the upgrade of their portable power equipment.
- Kyabram Yarn Bombers: $1000 to assist with purchasing supplies for the group to make Christmas decorations for the town.
- Red Knights Int. Motorcycle Club Aus.14 Inc: $3000 to support the Community Christmas Lunch in Rushworth.
- Rushworth Community House: $3146 to purchase white goods to be used for local events that encourage and promote community and social inclusion.
- Rushworth Community Support: $4000 to facilitate a Mental Health First Aid Course for employees and volunteers.
- St John Ambulance Australia (Campaspe Division): $2990.15 to purchase new equipment for volunteer first aid training.
Mayor Daniel Mackrell thanked everyone for applying in this round of the Community Grant’s program and encouraged community groups interested to apply for the next round.
“It’s fantastic to see so many community groups going to the effort to enhance their services and facilities,” Cr Mackrell said.
“We’re proud to support these initiatives and can’t wait to see the positive outcomes across the shire.”
Round three is open for applications until Tuesday, August 26, and round four opens on Saturday, November 1.
