The Undera Angling Club is hosting a Kids Come Try Fishing day at the Mooroopna Recreation Reserve lake on Sunday, October 26.
The free community event, running from 10am to 2pm, is part of the Victorian Fisheries Authority’s Gone Fishing Day initiative.
“It is all about celebrating the joys of fishing and the numerous benefits it brings,” Undera Angling Club’s Leigh James said.
The 2025 theme is Fishing for Community.
The first 50 children to attend will receive a new fishing rod.
Bait will be provided, along with a complimentary barbecue lunch at noon.
Club members will be on hand to assist participants, though all children must be accompanied by an adult.
The event has received support from local businesses including Trelly’s Outdoor and Anaconda Shepparton, as well as the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
