Yarrawonga Health’s Community Heart Appeal has received a record-breaking $100,000 donation from Club Mulwala, the largest single donation in the club’s proud history supporting local causes.
The incredible contribution brings the Appeal total to $750,000, with the health service now entering the final reach toward its $1 million fundraising goal.
The new theatre build was fully funded by the Victorian Government through the Victorian Health Building Authority, and now the Community Heart Appeal is focused on equipping the space with vital, modern medical equipment.
Recent purchases are a major step forward in enhancing the capacity and capability of local surgical services. The purchasing of additional equipment continues in readiness for the opening of the new theatre.
“This extraordinary donation from Club Mulwala represents a legacy investment in the future of our community’s healthcare,” Yarrawonga Health CEO Robin Haberecht said.
“We are incredibly grateful for their vision and commitment to improving health outcomes for our region.”
Club Mulwala board chair, Des O’Meara said the club was proud to play a leading role in the appeal.
“This is a once-in-a-generation project that will make a difference to the lives of local people,” Mr O’Meara said.
“We see it as a privilege to be part of it, and we hope our contribution inspires others to get behind the final push.”
While much has been achieved, fundraising efforts continue as Yarrawonga Health works to achieve its goal of $1million.
“With $250,000 to reach our target, the Community Heart Appeal is encouraging businesses, individuals, and community groups to continue our combined efforts by supporting upcoming events or donating individually to reach this amazing milestone,” Yarrawonga Health board chair, David Rokesky said.
“We are incredibly grateful to our community.”
