Riverlinks WestSide is set to ignite the stage with a collaboration that transcends borders and genres with the acclaimed Indigenous vocalist Emma Donovan and Melbourne rhythm combo The Putbacks.
The collaboration has been marked by the artists’ shared love for classic American soul and the protest music of Indigenous Australia.
This is apparent in their music as it weaves together influences from soul records, as well as Coloured Stone and Warumpi Band, creating a unique and distinct sound that resonates with listeners worldwide.
This Australian soul music ensemble have been making waves since their debut album, Dawn, in 2014, introduced a fresh voice to Australian soul music.
Building on their success, they unleashed the critically acclaimed Crossover in 2020, a testament to Donovan’s optimistic yet brutally honest songwriting and the fluid and dynamic musicality of The Putbacks.
Tickets to the performance on August 3 at 7.30pm are available in person, online or through the Riverlinks box office on 5832 9511.
